About this library

This is Homestead Codex, a free skills and reference library for people who grow food, store water, and handle things themselves. Preppers, homesteaders, and outdoors people are all welcome. The default door is practical homesteading.

Who it's for

If you want a first week of water and sanitation, a first season in the garden, a 72-hour home list, or field skills for a hike — you're in the right place. We write for people who will do the work, not for people collecting gear photos.

What we don't do

• We don't sell our own products. The library is the product. Money, when it comes, is from tracked affiliate links to books, gear, courses, podcasts, or tools other people make.
• We don't cover firearms, tactical gear, or self-defense weapons. Not in this version of the site.
• We don't give medical or legal advice. See the disclaimer.
• We don't invent article titles, authors, or product names to look further along than we are. Empty hubs are empty on purpose.

How the site is organized

Start Here is a path. Skills are hubs. Reference is checklists, kits, and charts. Guides are longer pieces. None are published yet. Free is the 72-hour kit checklist.
